{"id":2592,"date":"2018-08-27T14:48:29","date_gmt":"2018-08-27T19:48:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emersongroupinc.com\/?p=2592"},"modified":"2025-03-08T14:51:32","modified_gmt":"2025-03-08T20:51:32","slug":"passing-of-emerson-groups-founder-william-skip-emerson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emersongroupinc.com\/passing-of-emerson-groups-founder-william-skip-emerson\/","title":{"rendered":"Passing of Emerson Group\u2019s Founder, William \u201cSkip\u201d Emerson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2593 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/emersongroupinc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Young-Skip-Emerson-300x298-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emersongroupinc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Young-Skip-Emerson-300x298-1.jpg 300w, https:\/\/emersongroupinc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Young-Skip-Emerson-300x298-1-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.emersongroupinc.com\/\">Emerson Group<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s founder, William \u201cSkip\u201d Emerson on August 22, 2018.\u00a0 Skip was 87 and a longtime Moorestown, NJ resident.<\/p>\n<p>In 1971 Skip and his wife Annette (nee Streeter) purchased a Dunhill Personnel franchise and immediately set out to become leaders in the staffing <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1367 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/emersongroupinc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Emerson-Family-Steve-Mary-Bill-Annette-and-Skip.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>industry in South Jersey and Philadelphia.\u00a0 In 1990 a second generation of the Emerson family, their son\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:WEmeson@EmersonGroupInc.com\">Bill<\/a><\/strong>, joined the business as an Executive Recruiter then stepped in as President when Annette and Skip retired in 1998.<\/p>\n<p>Skip was the proud father of Stephen (Mary) of Moorestown, Douglas (Cecilia) of Boulder, Co., Matthew (Heather) of Anchorage, AK. and William (Annemarie) of Moorestown, NJ. Grandfather of Luke, Matthew, Rachel, Noah, William, Nicholas and Luke Matthew. Brother-in-law of Ellen Emerson of Richmond, Va., Margaret Evans of Syracuse, NY and The Rev. Dr. Richard Streeter and his wife Patricia of Paoli, Pa. Also survived by many loving, nieces, nephews and cousins.<\/p>\n<p>Skip was born and raised in Ridgefield Park, NJ. Skip graduated from Syracuse University majoring in Pre-Law where he played basketball and varsity baseball. He was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. Sept. 18th at the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fpcmoorestown.org\/\">First Presbyterian Church<\/a><\/strong>, 101 Bridgeboro Rd.
